Technological Breakthrough of Fluorocarbon Coating in Anti-corrosion of Marine Steel Piles

Comparative tests at the Tianjin LNG receiving terminal showed that the fluorocarbon coating maintained its adhesion of ≥5MPa (GB/T 5210 standard) after 1,000 hours of weekly immersion tests in a simulated marine environment (Cl- concentration of 3.5%). The material has an impact resistance of 50 J/cm² (ASTM D256), which is three times better than traditional epoxy coatings, but still costs 15 per cent more than PTC technology.
